On Page Search Engine Optimization (SEOThe goal is to find keywords/phrases that have more than 3000 searches per month and less than 30,000 competing pages/sites. Google can show you this information :-)Once you have these keywords/phrases you are armed with more than most website owners J A great idea is to register a domain name that includes one of the best keywords/phrases, i.e. most searches, least competitors..
When creating your site, you should use these ‘good keywords and phrases’ in the title of your website and in the text that is found on the website.. Bolding, underlining and putting these words in headlines will all emphases that your site is full of quality content related to those keywords/phrases! Your website will also allow you to add tags – which are keywords related to the content you are putting on the page (they are very important). With these things done, Google will start to think YOU are an authority in that product/service – and rank you higher in the search for those terms. Off Page Search Engine Optimization (SEO) We have been talking about ‘on page’ search engine optimization (SEO) – sorry about the jargon! The matching half to this is ‘off page’ search engine optimization (SEO). As the title suggests this work is done ‘off page’ or away from your website. This can be a very complex part of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), so I’ll just give you a quick over view. One of the ways that Google decides if you are a good guy is to see how many other sites are pointing/linking to your site? The ‘better’ the sites that are pointing to you, the more Google likes it. Again your keywords come in here, you can create pages in ‘popular sites’ like Squidoo (www.squidoo.com) and Hub Pages (www.hubpages.com), that point to your site and are based around your keywords.. You can also create articles around your keywords and upload them to popular article sites (Google likes them!)… Press releases based on your keywords will also improve your ranking, as will videos hosted on Youtube – all pointing to your site. This only just scratches the surface when it comes to ‘off page’ techniques you can use to rank well in Google..
